A Torch is a tool used to provide light in the darkness in Betrayal at Krondor.

Overview[]

Torches occupy one Inventory space and are stackable up to 25. A lit Torch lasts 8 in-game hours.[1] When lit, they cannot be discarded or transferred to another character's Inventory until extinguished.

Due to danger of fire, they cannot be used in Naphtha Mines, which require alternative methods of lighting. These may include a Ring of Prandur, the Candle Glow spell, or, above ground, the Stardusk spell.

They can be purchased in many shops and are often found in Chests, caches, or on the looted bodies of enemies.

Description[]

He plucked at the torch's oil soaked wrappings. Although the rags were heavy with the scent of kerosene, he had no way to be certain how long the torch would last once lit.

Trivia[]

  • At The Flying Sow in Prank's Stone, a battered woman mysteriously gives the party leader a cloth bundle containing a single Torch, claiming to have been instructed to give it to someone who "looks just like" him.
